Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a progressive eye disease that damages the optic nerve, often due to elevated eye pressure, and can lead to vision loss if untreated. While traditional treatments include eye drops and laser therapy, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) has become a popular option for reducing eye pressure with less risk and quicker recovery than traditional surgery. MIGS procedures include devices like iStent, Hydrus Microstent, and the OMNI system, which enhance fluid drainage, as well as laser-based options like selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT). These advanced techniques are often combined with cataract surgery to improve long-term eye health and reduce the need for daily medications.
